The image of libraries

The work provides a comprehensive understanding of the problem of the image of libraries, librarians, and the library profession, helping to bridge the gap between different levels of theoretical knowledge about the image and the sphere of their practical application. The book examines the set of private images that form the whole image of the library as a social institution, as well as substantiates the main provisions of the new scientific discipline - library imageology. This study analyzes the images of libraries existing in the mass consciousness, the views of librarians themselves and the influence on the image of images from fiction, films and press. The text of the work provides a definition of the image of libraries, lists the main factors influencing the image, analyzes the main concepts of the image, identifies the reasons for the existence of negative perceptions of the profession of a librarian, etc. The book consists of seven chapters, a list of references and 6 appendices.
