Beskrivelse
In 1895, Pandit Sanjibanlal Ramsoondur commonly known as Pandit Sajeewon, inaugurated the biggest Shiv Temple or Shivalaya of Mauritius found in the village of Triolet in the north-west barely one kilometer from the beautiful beaches of Trou aux Biches. The Indians came from different regions of the sub-continent. They formed different linguistic groups living close to each other in perfect harmony, which fascinated Mahatma Gandhi in 1901. It was a beacon of hope for post-independent Indian unity.
It was high time for a prestigious temple like Maheshwarnath to have its history written so that the public may be aware of its role as a religious and socio-cultural institution. Pandit Sajeewon, dedicated all the riches he had for the provision and service of his Shivalaya so that the welfare of his kith and kin is safeguarded. Such pioneers are not lacking in the Hindu community. Others are still contributing their shares even today to keep the religion alive. Besides, it is called Sanatan Dharma, the Eternal Religion, which was born the moment the sun and the moon were born. This book has come at the opportune moment to uphold its perennial nature.
