Beskrivelse
What is a Gospel harmony?Simply put, a Gospel harmony is a rearrangement of the four separate, canonical Gospels into a single narrative. One of the oldest Gospel harmonies is the Diatessaron, compiled in the mid-2nd century (AD 150 - 170) by Tatian the Syrian. The word Diatessaron comes from the Greek, meaning "through four" or "out of four." In Latin, the title can mean "Made from four ingredients." The Diatessaron was so popular that it became the standard lectionary text of the Gospels in the Syriac church for nearly three centuries, meaning that Tatian's Diatessaron was the version of the Gospels that was read during worship. This Gospel harmony is based on the Diatessaron of Tatian. The translation of this Gospel harmony is meant to be easily understood. It seeks to remain faithful to the Greek text of the New Testament.
May this Gospel harmony allow the reader to encounter the Gospel again as if for the first time. May it speak to the reader's soul and deepen their faith.
