The Golden One

Makayla is the average fourteen-year-old girl. She tries to do everything on her own, not believing in magic or miracles. All she wants to do is get through life in her own way. When her stubbornness takes an unexpected turn, sending her to a secret world full of danger, dragons, and an evil king, magic takes a hold of Makayla and doesn't let go. The problem is, Makayla doesn't want anything to do with this world - but she already plays a far bigger role than she ever imagined, and if she doesn't live up to her part, it won't only be her life at risk.
