"The Marooner," a novella, is the story of Long Tom Pugh, infamous buccaneer in the Caribbean, and his ship, the Scourge. "Forced Luck," another novella, tells of Barthelemy "Bart" Portuguese, superstitious freebooter, who believed a gold amulet guaranteed his success.
