The fourth book in the Tranum series. The Western portion of what used to be called the United States of America had been laid waste. A dissident organization named S.T.E.M. had initiated this attack to destroy facilities involved in 'temporal manipulation' experiments. Their purpose was to ensure that the government leaves the timeline alone. Tranum X. Weiss and his life mate, Bethany, found themselves tragically trapped in his 'nuclear hardened' laboratory. Tranum was, quite simply, the only man that had 'as yet' travelled in time. This was made possible by an accident that had left a temporal imprint on the cells within his body.
