'The space around you doesn't only affect your mood and well-being, but also people do that can turn us into a character we never expected.' The L'Herisse VOX Acting Technique is an approach to acting developed by American film/theatre practitioner Joel Brown. The goal of the VOX approach is for the actor to not focus on drowning out facing the music and instead concentrate on the sounds in the environment to become the character it's trying to shape you into. The following acting approach was birth from the development of my mental illness, that's how I know it works! This course examines the acting process and technique of living in a hallucination and delusional state of mind based on atmospheric sounds and music. That examination includes the basics of drawing from your environment to create a character through using creative imagination to get into character with music that includes: the fundamentals of unconscious awareness, the psychology of music: rhythm and movement, and creating kairos moments out of various ambiences, character study/analysis, character movement, voice/diction, dialogue, characterization, and imparting positive psychology of character strengths/virtues to not just develop a character but help teach your audience also. This course experiences the process of developing a character with a song and ambiance from concept to stage to workshop/showcase/perform. So get ready to turn up the volume, close your eyes, let the music take over your soul, and face the music in the scene that disturbs you with this new acting technique!
