Penny is smart and athletic and can get more than a little geeky about history. She has arrived in Athens on her first trip overseas and is enjoying the sights and the food and that warm Mediterranean sun.

Until a low-rent archaeological dig in Germany goes awry. Now Penny is on the run, lost and alone in the middle of Europe without even a phrase-book, dogged by an implacable pursuer and threatened by a phantom killer. What nobody could have expected was that Athena Fox, the globe-trotting adventurer of Penny's show, would take on a life of her own. Least of all Penny herself.

Penny's odyssey to get back to Athens will take her from the depths of the Black Forest to the crowded tents of Oktoberfest, through a chase across the hundred bridges of Venice to a struggle for survival in the waters of the Adriatic. Penny will need to be clever as a Fox to survive. The pride of a people and a priceless archaeological treasure are at stake. But if there's one lesson you can take from the Classics - it is never underestimate Athena.

Take one part Romancing the Stone, one part Indiana Jones, and season liberally with Greek myth. Then put on those good hiking boots and come along with an engaging and just slightly crazy guide for the trip of a lifetime.
