The Fightmare: Who will survive? Who will succeed? Who will wake up?In the town of Winderton, boys are brought up to be real men. They have to be tough, be strong, never cry, never do girly things, eat meat (never salad), drink beer and they have to know how to fight. From the youngest ages their dads will raise them in this Winderton Way to prepare them for their first week in High School. Here they will face The Fightmare. In this, the First-Year boys must physically and psychologically fight each other in a battle that culminates in The Smash War, where the boys' position in society is determined by their performance. For Kyrian and his friends The Wind Warriors, this event is a journey into their true self. Battling dangers in school, self-doubt, pressure from their dads and the bizarre advice and actions of the town joke Old Goof Fogerty, the Wind Warriors begin to question The Winderton Way itself as they enter The Fightmare.
