The Fantasmagorical Forest

Katelin's world crumbled with the death of her father. Since that devastating day, she fills her time being the center of attention with her friends to bury her grief. Fearing the upcoming first anniversary of his death, Katelin makes sure each day of summer will be filled with activities. She was looking forward to the first big pool party when the worst possible announcement came from her mother. She and her brother, Simon, were being sent to their great-grandmother's home in the Appalachian valley. Trapped in a place she hates and with no one around for miles, Katelin takes all her frustrations out on Simon. Even the discovery of the magical forest surrounding the house fails to lighten the emotional turmoil raging inside of her. That is until Nana is kidnapped. Now Katelin must put aside her anger and along with Simon enlist the help of the inhabitants of the fantasmagorical forest along with those from the realm of Dhumfeld in a frantic race to rescue her. When she accidentally transports herself to a terrifying world inhabited by vile forest creatures and ruthless killer trolls, Katelin knows she has to survive at any cost. Nana's life depends on her. With only Piney the mole as her companion, she fights to find her way back to the land of Dhumfeld and face the troll who kidnapped Nana.
