The Family Secret

The Phalentino family truly had a secret worth protecting and all would be risking an eternity in Hell to divulge said secret. Lidia, the youngest and most frail sister out of nine children, had a spirit take up residence in her body. Most spirits that inhabited humans were bad; but not this one. This spirit, a Voyl, just happened to be an incredibly good spirit. Voyls were mythological creatures sent from God in the time of giants to protect innocence. Possessing almost limitless powers, this in turn eventually caused their downfall. Their demise was brought about by them stepping over the line in exercising God's judgment. All these many centuries later Voyls had not been heard of and the demons of darkness took for granted that they were truly gone. All it would seem except for this one; which had never entered into a human and was patiently awaiting perfect innocence. It was Lidia's perfect purity, innocence, and consideration for others; which brought this clumsy girl into contact with this Voyl. New York City was abuzz with constant stories on the individual the papers dubbed the angel. All of the Phalentino males had entered into law enforcement as their chosen profession and this definitely became a problem, with a baby sister like Lidia. Lidia after all was a normal girl most of the time and as a result had a life of her own to live. With the introduction of the most alluring FBI agent, Tobias Rendal; Lidia's world was quickly becoming complicated.
