Based on the true story. John Mung, a Japanese fisherboy, is rescued and adopted by American ship Captain Whittefield. John Whittefield, Mung's adopted brother, becomes Commodore Perry's liaison between the Japanese Emperor and the United States. It is with this circumstance of fate that Mung is able to return to 19th century Japan and become the bridge for Western knowledge into his island country home. Book one of the Power Path series.
