Beskrivelse
It was the 1970s. In a Midlands town, a dedicated team of district nurses - affectionately known as 'the evening girls' - worked tirelessly through the evening (often until midnight and beyond when things didn't go as planned) to provide nursing care to the local people in their own homes.
Today, nearly fifty years later, the remaining members of the team still meet as friends and reminisce about some of the homes they visited and their experiences with the unique individuals they encountered.
Seen through the eyes of Alice - the youngest of the evening girls - these stories are a glimpse into a bygone era of nursing, offering a humorous, moving and heartwarming look at the relationships between nurses and patients.
