She had pictured coming back into the office in triumph, excited to prepare her report and close this case. She imagined testifying at the trial and hearing the gavel come down on his life sentence as the hikers' family members cried and hugged each other in relief, having answers and justice at last. But that would never happen. And Ben was responsible.
