In 1776, Thomas Paine published during the American Revolution the pamphlet Common Sense, in favour of American independence. The book inspired people in the thirteen colonies to fight for their independence. This collection aimed to present the works, thoughts and life of the enlightenment philosophers and writers who influenced the world and the social revolutions worldwide.
