The Emperor of Carysfort Reef

This story makes an effort to make friends with physics and science as applied to the fictional vampire. Through a number of voices in the story plausible and believable explanations of their origin, power, and relative mortality of those that live in that world. "Emperor..." is also more than a vampire tale, the threads that comprise its tapestry reflect a story about loneliness, lost love and love yet to come. It is a mystery story that introduces a much broader theme of nefarious mischief afoot. It is also witnesses to how sophisticated 21st century people, people minding their own business are compelled to accept the fact that vampires exist. As they go forward it details the challenges they experience in agreeing to protect the secret of their existence from becoming public knowledge, all the while tracking down and destroying the creatures wherever they turn up.
