This book discusses the paternal heritage of Andrew Henry Dibble, Sr. (1825-1873), of Charleston and Camden, South Carolina, whose early Dibble ancestors were Puritans Robert and Thomas Dibble, who arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1634/35. These early Dibble ancestors were among the founders of Danbury, Connecticut, where numerous Dibble family members lived for generations, including the interrelated families of Thomas Ford, Simon Hoyt, and Lt. Walter Fyler, whose names appear on the Founder's Monument in Windsor, Connecticut along with Thomas Dibble's name. Andrew Henry Dibble's father, Andrew Comstock Dibble, migrated to Charleston, South Carolina in 1821 to open a hat shop. Shortly thereafter, his brother, Philander Virgil Dibble, also settled in Charleston to work in the hat business. This book includes the ancestors and descendants of Andrew Henry Dibble, Sr.
