This research begins with the studying of a variety of literature, and the Bible. From these sources, Yi He goes deeply into many characters' spiritual situations, asks questions pertaining to their behaviors, and investigates their fates. This inquiry makes an attempt to find approaches by answering particular questions: how can Ah Q acquire his dignity without behaving so absurdly? Why are poets so keen to composing love-sickness poems throughout history? Is Tess really nature's daughter as her lover, Angel, thought? When Abraham falls into conflict between believing in God and showing affection to his only son, did he feel any emotions towards his action to his son or not? In Gethsemane, what's the reason for why Jesus requested God to remove the cup, but still agreed to accept it? Is the cup of life filled with happiness or bitterness? There are no complete answers, and the inquiry is still in process.
