For many people the Cotswolds represent the essence of the English countryside. Honey-coloured cottages of softly-weathered stone cluster amongst the greenery of small steeply-sided valleys. Yet although such scenes sound so familiar to us, this is an area full of surprises and hidden treasures; around almost every bend there is something different to discover.
