The Consequences of War is a Modern Poetry book about War, conflict, and PTSD. It contains traditional rhyming poems and narrative poems. The poems are based on real events and situations and on firsthand experiences from service in The Persian Gulf War-Desert Storm, Iraq, Bosnia, Cyprus, Canada, Germany, and Northern Ireland. I served in the British Army for many years and was injured during Desert Storm. A few years later, I was medically discharged as my health deteriorated.
Then in 1999, after many medicals, I was diagnosed with Combat-related PTSD, Paranoid Psychosis, IBS, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Gulf War Syndrome, Photophobia, Anxiety, a hearing problem, and various other medical conditions. Many years later, I discovered a chemical imbalance in my brain. I am now on medication for this, and I eventually got psychological intervention after 28 years, and PTSD is now manageable and under control. A huge part of my recovery was to write about everything, as a kind of therapy, which really has helped me. Our government in the U.K. still doesn't want to admit what they did to us, with illegal vaccinations that have been proven to be either illegal, unlicensed, and/or untested. The vaccine that did most of the damage, I and others now believe to be the Anthrax vaccine, which was illegal to give to humans because it contained a chemical called 'Squaline.'
As are many others, I am in the process of suing the British Ministry of Defence, but they are fighting it.
One day, the whole truth will come out, and probably by then, any compensation will go to our children because the British government's policy at present, and for the past 28 years since people first report illness, seems to be 'deny until they die.'
I am ok now. I'm in pain every day, but I get on with it. I am frustrated and annoyed that my life has been ruined and made worse since the age of 25 years old when all I did was serve my Country, and my government did this damage to me and thousands of others. It's not just in the U.K., though; thousands of U.S. Troops are having medical issues as well due to Gulf War Syndrome illnesses and are fighting a similar battle with their government. I hope you enjoy the book and the poems. All the very best Dave.
