The Colonial Chronicles; The Establishment of the Thirteen Original Colonies: Expansion and Dissent 1628-1636

The Colonial Chronicles is an epic multi-series set of American historical novels offering a panorama of characters and events of the Colonial Period chronicling the establishment of the Thirteen Original Colonies. Across a century and a half, the series opens with the loss of the Roanoke Colony, and concludes after the establishment of Georgia in 1732. Part Three begins in 1628 after militia members of the Plymouth Colony launch an attack on the Merrymount Colony, seeking to erase it from the map because it refuses to exist within the strict limits of Puritan church law. English Puritan colonization in North America grows as the Crown doubles-down on religious persecutions under William Laud, Archbishop of Canterbury. Simultaneously, while colonization expands in New England in the Great Migration, the religious freedom the Puritans seek for themselves is threatened by newcomers with differing ideas relating to both religion and government, moving directly against the established Puritan theocracy started in the Massachusetts Bay Colony. Diverse characters drive the narrative by folding into, blending with, and actively participating in the events, decisions, and actions resulting in each new colony's beginning, as well as larger world events, including global travel and meeting historically iconic people, finding that no history occurs in a vacuum because all societies are dynamic and, therein, change is not a variable, but a constant.
