Beskrivelse
The Clockwork Stairs picks up where book one left off, continuing the adventures of our intrepid hero, Andaris Rocaren. After The Shapeling Wars, Andaris sets out with Gaven and Gramps in search of both a cure for Mandie and a way back home. The Lost City of Laotswend holds the keys to both. If only they can find it....Using an ensorcelled map, they manage to locate the boundary separating their world from the Lenoy's, passing through a magical veil into a land that's as extraordinary as it is treacherous. Needless to say, epic fantasy ensues, the lore of a forgotten age calling across the centuries to the nimble of mind and stout of heart, giving rise to a heady amalgam of sword and sorcery capable of firing the most malnourished of imaginations. When Andaris becomes separated from his companions on The Clockwork Stairs, the nexus between worlds, he loses not only his way, but also himself, his surroundings becoming as ethereal as a dream. Attempting to discern fact from fantasy, he wanders the stairs like a ghost, utterly alone, becoming more and more disheartened with each step, until eventually coming to terms with an uncomfortable truth about the nature of life, reality, and himself. To be sure, all is not as it seems as he explores the secret and circuitous paths between worlds, traveling from points in time and space as routinely as others open a door. The numerous threads of the tale in which Andaris finds himself so entangled weave into a complex tapestry which he must unravel if he's to complete his quest and live to adventure another day. After all, The Forge of Dreams awaits-the beginning, middle, and end of all paths. You are formally invited to accompany young Andaris into and out of the labyrinthine pages of The Clockwork Stairs. Across strange and wondrous landscapes you shall go, exploring the borders of reality itself, until you reach, at long last, and in just the nick of time, the last bastion of strength for all that is good and right and true in the worlds. It's humankind's last hope-a lone, flickering light in the vast sea of darkness, a light on the brink of going out
