Beskrivelse
The debate on the climate emergency often fails to explore the values which drive it. In this book, Chris Philpott reasons that the climate crisis is a spiritual crisis, because we have turned our backs on the values and guidance offered by spiritual traditions on how to lead a climate-friendly life. Firstly he explains the nature of the climate emergency, drawing on current research and global examples, and contrasting our actions with the spiritual guidance we have been given. Secondly he looks at practical paths which we can follow as individuals, and collectively, to prevent climate catastrophe, and encourages the reader to make a "to do" list. The third section explores the consequences of our actions in future scenarios of up to 2°C, and beyond 2°C, global warming. Lastly there is further guidance from varied spiritual traditions on how we can live a climate-friendly life.
