The City Brigade

This young adult novel tells the story of good friends Ricardo, Peter, and Kate, whose lives are changed forever when their friend Emanuel becomes the victim of the drugs and violence so prevalent in their urban neighborhood. But what can kids do to help prevent these terrible situations?

 

The friends are determined to find a way to fight the ugliness, intolerance, and willingness of a world that wants to steal their innocence. They are surprised and grateful when help arrives from some very unusual quarters. A task force made up of supernatural elements, a mythical magician, an extra-terrestrial visitor, and a handful of some very unique and no-nonsense constables joins them in their all-out battle to clean up the neighborhood.
