Beskrivelse
King David is regarded as the greatest king of the people of Israel. David's rise to power came about only through a very long, challenging, and violent process. It would have been impossible without the select band of warriors that supported him. The Hebrew Bible refers to many of these individuals, and they are described as the mighty men of David with great exploits of their own. This story is based on one such individual briefly mentioned in I Chronicles 11 named Eliel. Israelite identity was still evolving at the time when King Saul and King David reigned. Canaanites and Philistines and many other groups competed for influence, power, and domination. The Israelite tribes were caught in between. This story tells the tale of a boy with an Israelite father; a Canaanite mother. A young boy is caught between two worlds during the time of Samuel the Seer. In the first volume, he is captured by the Sea Peoples during a battle, he is enslaved and taken to the Philistine stronghold of Gath where he meets two young girls who will shape his future. All the while, he remembers his friend, a beautiful Canaanite girl, and wonders whether he will ever see her or his parents again. The journey continues in this volume as the young warrior is confronted with the challenge of facing evil scavengers, choosing the first king of Israel, and deciding between his feelings for a beautiful Canaanite girl, and a young Israelite woman who loves him deeply. Join the adventure of the Chronicles of Canaan: A King Rises, as the story unfolds.
