The Chariot and the Cherubim: # 3 in God's House Series
A 6-Week Group or Individual Study
The exiled prophet Ezekiel wrote down a mysterious vision God gave him that has puzzled readers ever since. He described creatures of four faces, composite bodies, and "wheels within wheels." He recorded the name of these creatures: CHERUBIM.
Who or what are the cherubim, what did they mean to Ezekiel, and what do they mean for us, his twenty-first-century reading audience? While we can't arrive at complete answers to these questions, there are some intriguing hints we can explore.
This series of Bible studies takes a look at the One Big Story of the Bible as told through the building of God's "house," and this study takes a look at spiritual warfare as one part of that story. The Chariot and the Cherubim of Ezekiel (as well as related passages) have lessons to teach us on that subject.
Spiritual warfare is necessary for the freeing and healing and building of God's "house" of His children. This study examines biblical principles of spiritual warfare for the personal freeing and healing of God's children. These principles, learned and practised through a decade-long depression, are helpful for the struggling but applicable to anyone. Then, this study delves into spiritual warfare for the building of God's "house" as it interacts with a hostile culture all around. We are under attack, but our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual powers. We need God's strength and wisdom in the fight for the sake of the flesh and blood held spiritually captive by the spiritual powers-captives that He desires to free and welcome into His "house."
THE CHARIOT AND THE CHERUBIM is a Bible Study for groups or individuals. There are six weeks of individual, daily lessons with a group lesson Overview and discussion questions.
