King Xalton is ruler of Straltonia, the mightiest empire ever to exist in the Westermarch. His wealth is limitless, his power unrivaled, as is his reputation for satisfying the worlds most beautiful women. Now his life hangs by a thread. The greatest doctors cannot cure him, and in desperation, he seeks out the services of a dreaded mage adept in the Black Arts, but it seems the evil wizard has plans of his own, none of which bode well for the king. Behind closed doors dissenting nobles plot the kings demise. His only hope lies in a strange woman, whom many hail as a goddess, but whose lineage is steeped in lust for human blood; and in a savage young warrior who the king has already sentenced to death.
