The Castaway

Thirteen year old Jeanne Newell lives on a happy farm out in the rolling hills of Ohio, but when circumstances change for the worse, she is forced to go live with her only living relative who lives in faraway Chicago. Life becomes very challenging for Jeanne as she finds herself adjusting to city life, large schools, and a new faith - a faith in Jesus Christ. This historical fiction book is set at the beginning of the Great Depression.
