Beskrivelse
Coming out of a coma, Matthias Callaghan finds himself tied to a hospital bed, wrapped in bandages and suffering from amnesia. As he recovers his memories, Callaghan discovers that he has been mutilated and subject to a full face transplant. After being released from the hospital, Callaghan spends months in solitary depression plotting his revenge on the five people who have caused him the loss of his identity and former privileged life. What he eventually learns is that his revenge must encompass the Russian Mafia, a treacherous lawyer, his former business partner, his ex-wife and his estranged father. The consequences for executing his coordinated revenge obliges Callaghan to return to one of his former identities to negotiate an assassination. When taken in for questioning by the police, Callaghan is faced with three options: to maintain his adopted identity, reveal his real one or flee Europe. In either case he risks going to prison and losing a fortune. Chased across the world by police and criminals alike, Callaghan thinks he has eluded them all by starting a new life in Australia. Six months later he finds out that he's wrong. Callaghan escapes to Bali, where he contemplates how to recover his true identity. Although the price will be steep, he settles on a daring plan to remove all threats to his existence and allow him to recover his true identity.
