Beskrivelse
I'm a poet for the lovers, dreamers and believers. For the hope give-ups and the heart beat ups. If you live to read rhyme, you will love the lines in mine.
The mind. The heart. The war and rebellions of both. A poem is meant to make you think, or make you feel.
The Cages We Built builds up like a house, brick by brick revealing what is truly meant by the title of the book.
Self-love and mental health are a major takeaway. But what's a good poetry collection without a little love, lust and heartbreak?
***
Ain't what's bad supposed to eventually leave you alone?
All along I've had me
Happy me and sad me
Ain't what's good supposed to eventually find in you a home?
Don't fall for the pretending of things
When they go wrong, it's not what it seems
Don't shrivel your throat with silent screams
Silence is enlightening but sometimes it dims
I am learning to fall
And what it means to fly
I am learning to let go
Of what doesn't want to be mine
I am kissing myself
In a calm breeze
I am finally able
To anticipate my most intimate needs
