Beskrivelse
The martial art of judo developed from ju jitsu. It originally included techniques which people would recognise today in Brazilian ju jitsu (throwing and grappling), shotokan karate (blocks and strikes), and aikido (some weapons techniques).
Techniques have been added and removed from the judo syllabus over time.
Inside this book you will find guidance on:
- Strikes and blocks.
- Throws.
- Kata.
- Holding techniques.
- Limb locking techniques.
- Strangles/chokes.
My unique selling points:
- A reference book that you can refer to again and again.
- You will learn faster through clear diagrams and explanations and build
on what you already know.
- Details broken down into core techniques and variations. You will learn how to combine modular parts of techniques.
- Principles of 'what', 'how' and 'when'. Other sources just show 'what'.
- Ready reckoners so people know when they are in the correct position.
- How to use judo techniques to understand the mechanics of other martial art techniques.
Most of this book is suitable for children and adults. Techniques are from the adult judo syllabus. Chapter 6 locking and strangling techniques are not shown in class to children under 12.
