The Breach

The last despairing thought before the blackness took his mind away altogether was that God had chosen to abandon the human race after all. Dekker didn't blame him. Doctor Daniel Van Dekker is a worried man. Political engineering destroyed Australia's world class Institute for Nuclear Research. As chief scientist, he had failed to protect the institute he loved. Furious with his political masters and angry with himself, Dekker pressured the government to allow him to conduct experiments into nuclear fusion, holding out the promise of cheap energy and intellectual property rights worth a fortune. To this, his political masters agreed, their hidden agenda to ensure Dekker's failure and subsequent humiliation. Dekker also had a hidden agenda. Instead of investigating nuclear fusion, he planned to perform high energy collision experiments with the aim of discovering new fundamental particles. If he was successful, Australia's reputation in nuclear research would be restored. But Dekker's experiment went horribly wrong. With only two scientists on his team, Doctor Mark Chambers, a particle physicist and a committed Christian; and Doctor Candice LeBlanc, a power engineer who hates religion of any sort, Dekker must solve the problem he has created. He not only had to flee the country to save his life-but the entire human race.
