The Boy Who Made Music

In this allegory set in a New England town in the early Twentieth Century, Everett and Bethany Garth find life difficult enough, but their troubles don't really begin until the birth of their son Jonathan. Whispered rumors of the boy's special gift soon give rise to gossip and suspicion. Haunted by fear, the Garths try to shield their son from the growing hostility of the townspeople, who come to regard him as the source of evil and the cause of their ills.
