The Boy Who Came from Nowhere

A boy of unknown origin is found near death in a small upstate town. He's taken to a local hospital in a comatose state where the staff soon uncovers a variety of physiological anomalies in their patient, including ultra-sensitivity to sunlight. When a retired NYC detective becomes involved, he psychically experiences an intense case of the "heebie-jeebies." The boy eventually recovers but remains plagued by what his neurologist feels is psychosomatically induced amnesia. What follows is a mysterious tale involving many of the physical traits commonly associated with vampires. However, gone are the fangs, blood and gore of previous vampire lore. Found Instead are a strange assortment of physiological oddities, an extraordinary level of psychic development, and the need to feed upon human psycho-sexual energy. Hypnotic therapy soon reveals the boy is being hunted by an amber-eyed beast, intent on killing him. His conundrum is that the more he recalls his past, the greater his risk of being detected by this malevolent beast. This story contains a rich tapestry of wit, humor, pathos, morals, eroticism, truth and deception. The characters herein portray both our greatest virtues and our most grievous defects in the continuing effort to survive and adapt to an ever changing world.
