"The Book of Joy" is a 1917 work by American writer John T. Faris. Within it, Faris explores the concept of Christian joy and how a joyful life can be obtained and maintained through believing in God and leading a Christian life. A series of often heart-warming and incredible real-life stories that aim to lead people down the path to individual happiness. Contents include: "Always Rejoicing", "Girded With Gladness", "In Time of Trouble", "In Prison", "Loving One Another", "Walking in Love", "Sharing With Others", "Bearing the Burdens of Others", "Making Life Count", "Godliness with Contentment", and "Delighting in God". John Thomson Faris (1871-1949) was an American author, clergyman, and editor. Other notable works by this author include: "The Sunday School and the Pastor (1906), "The Sunday School in the Country" (1908), and "Romance of the English Bible" (1911). This classic work is being republished now in a new edition complete with an introductory chapter from Faris's "The Book of Courage".
