Beskrivelse
The Blackout is a collection of poetry and short stories written by spoken word performer Articulate Millington. The book itself is geared around the randomness of life, not containing page numbers or a table of contents. Readers can open the book and dive right into a thought or feeling, giving a fresh feel to every reading. The poetry ranges from simple and airy to analytical and deep. The author gives a very personal insight into his earlier years while divulging many sensitive topics in his life, from painful relationships to the passing of his grandmother to near death experiences at a young age. In a change of pace the short stories offer a glance at the writer's fictional prowess. Engaging stories allow the reader to transport themselves to another time and place. The happiness and selflessness of Crosshairs, the apprehension and tension of The Other Side of the Door, and the passion and unbridled emotion of the book's namesake, The Blackout. Everything comes together to create an exploration through the gamut of feeling and opinion up until the very end.
