A retired Army Military Police Master Sergeant recently lost his wife of 22 years to cancer. Now living alone in a home that the two had built together in a small seaside Georgia community he yearns for a time when things were simpler and less hectic. Between his struggles of loss, depression and attempts to find himself he remembers those times when life was effortless. To him, life was not only easier, but also filled with more love when dust, dirt, mortars falling, and bombs exploding surrounded him. Without knowing it, a simple routine occurrence will give him exactly what he seeks and test him to the fullest. With the assistance of his best friend and former soldiers, he will be able to face some of his greatest fears and relive some of his darkest moments.
