Beskrivelse
In THE BAD HOUR, DR.CLARK builds an unforgettable fable about collective violence. The evil hour of the peasants has come to the people, the hour of misfortune. The region has been pacified after a civil war. The Conservatives, who cruelly and pertinaciously persecute their Liberal opponents, have won. At dawn one morning, while Father Ángel is preparing to celebrate mass, a shot rings out in the town. A cattle dealer, warned by a poster attached to the door of his house of his wife's infidelity, has just killed her alleged lover. It is one more of the anonymous posters nailed to the doors of the houses, which are not political pamphlets, but simple denunciations about the private life of citizens. But they do not reveal anything that was not known beforehand: they are the old rumors that have now been made public; and from them the underlying violence explodes under a torrid, thick, tired and sticky light, in a series of chained scenes of unforgettable beauty.
