Beskrivelse
A concise personal account of cavalry weapons composed in 1875 by Lieutenant G. H Elliott, of the 3rd Bengal Cavalry, Indian Army. The fruit of the author's clearly wide and discursive reading, the book ranges from Xenophon's treaty on cavalry in the ancient world up to the recent Franco-Prussian War. In addition there is an extra chapter on the use of dismounted cavalry, and an extensive bibliography of 19th century works on the cavalry. Anyone interested in mounted warfare should read this book.
