The Animal Garden

A children's book, for ages 8 years and above.

Kiki, a smart young cat, becomes a good friend of the stone statues in the garden of her home. There are fourteen statues, all animals, big and little, from a lion to a toad. And all have been rescued, for each has suffered some kind of damage. From them Kiki learns the importance of imperfection. To help her new friends rescue another statue-a lost, lonely puppy-Kiki thinks up a clever plan. Other frequent visitors to the garden, animals and insects, come to Kiki's aid, and together they carry out her plan. At last the puppy statue is able to join the others in the garden. With love and gratitude the animal statues welcome Kiki as a full member in their "Distinguished Society of Seconds."
