Beskrivelse
When Mary Mast is tricked into joining an Amish dating site, she has no idea of the consequences that will follow.
Her life of being a part time waitress at the local diner, and pretzel-maker at the family store comes to a rapid halt when an altered photo of her appears on the dating site, the website for the store her parents own, and even in mailboxes around the district.
Obviously, someone is out to ruin her good name
Jake Coblenz, a regular handsome Amish man at her station for breakfast each day, was just beginning to work up the courage of getting to know her, when all of a sudden he learns she no longer works at the diner. He is determined to know why and where she went.
Turns out that Mary traveled to a large Christian soup kitchen in Albany to be a sleepover volunteer until her good name can be restored back home. Something she'd always dreamed of doing.
She writes to Jake to inform him of the dilemma that brought her to be away from Thanksgiving until New Year's Day. She tells him how wonderful the people there are, and of the many hungry people they feed.
Meanwhile, Jake tries to solve the altered photo mystery with her family, and begins to drive nearly three hours each Sunday to visit Mary at the soup kitchen for supper, while back in Palatine Bridge a double mystery unfolds that surprises everyone.
