Beskrivelse
The American English Coonhound, also known simply as the 'Redtick Coonhound' or the 'English Coonhound, ' is a breed of coonhound that is typically bred in the Southern United States. The breed is a descendant of the hunting hounds brought to America by the settlers during the 17th and 18th centuries. Unlike other breeds of coonhounds, a variety of coat colorations are accepted to meet the American English Coonhound breed standards. Coat colorations are most commonly redtick, bluetick, tricolored and tricolored with ticking. It is commonly thought that the breed has developed greater levels of intelligence, and an innate ability to hunt, due to the breeders focusing on these aspects of the dog rather than superficial aesthetic aspects - such as coat colorations. The American English Coonhound is a highly energetic breed and will require regular walking and exercise. The American English Coonhound is known to be a highly loyal, loving, strong willed, intelligent and family orientated breed.
