The Ageless Sojourner *Rio Rincon* In the Epilogue to The Night of the Leonids Guadalcanal 1942 (no longer in print), I mentioned that Geri and I had visited a small cemetery in Rio Rincon hoping to learn more about Brian Talbot's life before WWII and in the process found out about the three Broward boys, and later, the two Laqos boys from Rio Rincon who were still missing in action on the Burma Road since 1942-1943. The stories of their youth as they grew up on their family farms in the Salinas Valley, and the events, although somewhat obscure after all these years, of their WWII combat as U.S. Army snipers along the Burma Road, make for fascinating reading. I hope you enjoy the three stories, Between the World Wars in Rio Rincon, Night of the Burma Road Conflict 1941-1942, and The Nineteen Fifties in Rio Rincon (Valle Rincon) as much as I did writing them.
