The Adventures of Thunder The Wonder Puppy

This beautifully illustrated children's book tells a story of a young border collie called "Thunder". The Adventures of Thunder the Wonder Puppy is the first in a series of illustrated books about Border Collies born and raised in Washington State's Chimacum Valley. The region is known for its many organic farms, wineries, and cideries. In this book, the author includes 20 watercolor illustrations to chronicle Thunder's life. Thunder was born on an organic farm and this book is about her first year of life and the many adventures she experiences. Thunder learns a great deal about life through her mother "Lucy" and the resident farmers Grandpa Norm and Grandma Ellen. Thunder survives a wild goose attack and she learns to herd and protect the many farm animals. Thunder and her mother, another border collie explore wild forest and pond areas, meeting wild bees, wild ducks, beavers, and other animals. This book is appropriate for children of all ages. The Author, Ellen O'Shea is an accomplished author of children's books and has received awards for her illustrations and her book "Piper and the Red Boat".
