Beskrivelse
This is the story of a boy and his dog, growing up Anglo in a majority French-speaking Québéc town on a large navigable river, and the adventures they shared. Finesse was a medium-small dog, a Jack Russell terrier or similar breed, but with twice the attitude. She was the master of her own universe, tolerated other dogs, chased cats and cars, bit all delivery men and refused to behave. In the time before leash laws, she was my best, most loyal friend who accompanied me everywhere.
Our parents had just survived World War 2, and we kids and our dogs were left to run free and find our own way. Our territory was the big river, the creek, the sand pit, the golf course, the neighboring towns, and the five peaks of Mont St. Hilaire.
