The heart behind this book stems from a practice that helped me get through the darkest time in my life. In 2017, I began experiencing depression, anxiety, and even suicidal thoughts for the first time in my life. There were times that I wasn't sure if I was going to make it another day or not.
During that time, my dad began sending me little plastic cards that had one word on one side and a Bible verse on the other side. I kept one in my pocket every single day and I even began making my own on index cards. I started taping them in my locker, on my desk, on the door of my room, and anywhere else that I would see them!
There were obviously so many other factors that played a part in my healing and freedom from anxiety and depression, but this was a tangible practice that I could cling to, and has stuck with me to this day!
In this book, I've written eight chapters about eight different words. These are powerful words-anchor words to cling to, focus on, and embrace in our lives! My hope is that through reading this book, you will be encouraged, equipped, and challenged!
