The title of the author's first book of poetry is inspired by the movie "I Love You, Alice B. Toklas " starring Peter Sellers and Leigh Taylor-Young. In one particularly unforgettable scene from that film, the protagonist's own parents consume a plate of "lethal" brownies left by his new girlfriend, resulting in hilarious, convulsive and uncontrollably psychedlic behavior. And, indeed, the author's dedicates this book to Alice B. Toklas, the originator of that infamous "Hashish Fudge" recipe and, as the author has so aptly indicated, "such a groovy lady." In addition to the title poem, the "other poetic goodies" consist of memories and reflections about retro times, mainly during the 1960's and 70's, but going even further back The reader will be transported to the time of the Love Generation (hippies, tie-dyed clothing, love beads, peace signs and much more). Classic poetry lovers will delight in charming rhyming couplets with surprising new twists. Nature lovers will surely relate to all the beauties of Creation described by the author in the moving lines of several pages in the collection. And, as if this were not enough, Greek mythology is given wide berth as the topic of several offerings. All in all, there is literally something for everybody in this wonderful little book of fifty poems, guaranteed to generate pleasant recollections to readers of all ages.
