BOOK ON TAMIL SCHOLARS
Saraswati Ramnath is an excellent translator who has translated from Tamil to Hindi and from Hindi to Tamil.
Translation is an art like walking on a rope. It is also an alchemical art of gilding copper. Linguistics, vocabulary, semantics, sociocultural sense, ability to translate according to target language traditions, grammatical knowledge - these are all qualifications for a translator. It is said that the best translation is one that, like the first book created in the original language, is a clear expression of thought in a naturally fluid style. Saraswati Ramnath gave such excellent translations to Tamil.
