Over 50 beautiful tetras are described in detail, including at least 1 picture of each species. This includes many of the more common tetras, and a few unusual ones.

This book covers a wide range of tetras, from the diminutive Ruby Tetra to the Piranha eating Vampire Tetra. It includes the beautiful Peru Bleeding Blue Tetra, Hyphessobrycon margitae, which was only scientifically described in 2016, the egg placing Sailfin Tetra, Crenuchus spilurus, and the Splashing Tetra which lays its eggs out of the water.
