The unknown outside enemy has clearly gained a foothold within the Erobian Sphere. What's not clear is just how far they have come, where they are hiding, and which worlds have conceded an alliance with them. That is exactly what the High General intends to discover when he sends his Earthling friend Brandon Foss out on a special mission. The plan has its risks, but it may be the only way to flush the enemy into a confrontation away from Torian space.

Unbeknownst to them, three 2nd generation Earthlings and their unique pet have also ventured across the sphere, where they unwittingly tread on a hidden enemy base. Jumper, Alan, and Kayla's botched vacation plans deposit them at the point of the enemy's farthest advancement. It was deception which landed them in these rocky circumstances, and more will be required to get them out-but they have no way of knowing their actions are affecting the course of the entire war.
